In LUNA CMP, zones can be any physical area where plants are stored and moved inside a facility. A zone could be a room, a row, a series of towers, or rafts. Zone names are customizable and should match how users normally think about your physical space.
Further, you can set up Subzones within Zones to track more detailed movement of batches.
Creating a Zone:
Step 1: Hover over your user name and click Settings.
Step 2: Click on Zones in the left menu bar.
Step 3: Scroll to find the Stage in which you want to create your zone and click the + Add Zone button on the right side.
Step 4: Name the zone in the Zone Name field. Name the zone whatever it's called in your facility. Examples include Germination, Veg, and Nursery.
Step 5: In the Stage dropdown, select the corresponding stage or substage for that zone. As a note, when a batch is this zone, it will be listed in the corresponding stage/substage tab in the Production list.
Step 6: The Default Unit dropdown is to note the default batch unit. This will help later with utilization reports in the Reports tab.
Step 7: Define the capacity by either batch unit or area. To set capacity based on batch unit, input the Quantity Capacity in terms of batch units set in the previous step, i.e. the total number of default batch units that can fit into this zone. If you would like to calculate the zone capacity by area rather than by number of units, input the Area Capacity and ensure that the Unit Size of the batch unit selected has been entered. Click here for more information on how to set up Batch Units.
Step 8: (Optional) If you are calculating the capacity of the zone by area, input the Area Capacity and click on the "Area" option under Capacity Display. Please note that it will only be possible to measure the capacity of the zone by area if the quantity capacity, default unit, and size of default unit have all also been set up properly as described in Steps 6 & 7.
Step 9: (Optional) You can add GPS coordinates in the Coordinates field and an overview will display on your Zones page in planning. To populate your coordinates, visit https://geojson.io/ and zoom into the area that you want to tag. Use the line, polygon, and square tools to draw a boundary around the specific zone. Once completed, copy the code from the right side panel and return to LUNA CMP to populate in the Coordinates field.
Step 10: (Optional) Once the initial zone is saved, you can add a subzone as second step. Click + Add Subzone and name each subzone. You can removeany subzone by clicking the Delete button.
Step 11: Click the green Save button to save New Zone.
