Batch ID patterns can be set at any of these three levels:
- At the Stage level in Settings
- At the Template level
- At the Schedule level
Any customization to the Batch ID pattern at the Template or Schedule level will automatically be reflected on any batches started using that template or schedule from that point on.
If no customized Batch ID pattern is set at the Schedule level, the CMP will default to the Template's Batch ID pattern. If no customized Batch ID pattern is set at the Schedule or Template level, the CMP will default to the Stage's Batch ID pattern.
To customize the Batch ID pattern on a Multi-Step Template:
Step 1: Navigate to the individual template page and click into the Batch ID Pattern field located in the upper righthand corner.
Step 2: Customize the Batch ID pattern as desired. For information on which values can be used, how to format those values, and how to hardcode information into the Batch ID pattern please refer to the Batch ID Pattern article here.
Step 3: Save the changes made to the template.
To customize the Batch ID pattern on a Schedule or a One-Step Template:
Step 1: Open up the individual One-Step Template side edit modal OR open up an existing Schedule's side edit modal OR add a new Schedule to a template.
Step 2: Click into the Batch ID Pattern field located at the top of the side edit modal, just below the template or schedule name.
Step 3: Customize the Batch ID pattern as desired. For information on which values can be used, how to format those values, and how to hardcode information into the Batch ID pattern please refer to the Batch ID Pattern article here.
Step 4: Save the changes made to the template or the schedule.
Please note:
We advise setting a Batch ID pattern at the Stage level in Settings prior to subsequent customization at the Template or Schedule level. Even if it matches the CMP default of "{start:MMMD}-{variety:3-3}" the Batch ID pattern should be defined in Settings first. If that field is left empty then it will appear empty at the Template and Schedule levels as well, and you will have to manually enter the full pattern desired rather than make simple tweaks or additions as needed.
Hardcoding any details at the Template or Schedule level will allow you to specify details that apply to all batches started using that specific template or schedule. Uses include noting a batch's destination/growth zone, or distinguishing R&D crops and details.
