Material Templates are LUNA CMP's system for tracking materials that will be used during cultivation or other processes. Users must first create a material template in order to for that material to be available to be checked into their inventory.
To create a Template:
Step 1: Click on the Planning tab in the menu bar
Step 2: Click on the green + Add Template button on the upper right-hand corner
Step 3: Select the Materials stage where you would like to create the template from the drop down list
Step 4: Select the Crop Variety aka the name of the material from the drop down list
Step 5: Name* your template
Step 6: Select your Seeding Unit. This is optional - but you can choose "Material Check-In" as an option
Step 7: Click on the green Create button on the bottom right corner to create your template
After creating your new template, a new builder page will appear to finish creating your template. You will be able to rename the template name at any point using the text box in the upper left corner.
- By default, the first action will be a Start task and the last will be a Harvest (or Finish) task.
- If you want to track a more complex material workflow, add additional actions to the template by dragging and dropping selected action from the left sidebar into the timeline.
- For example, add a move task if you want to capture when a material moves from one storage location to another.
- If you simply want to track the quantities of each material - you can remove the wait task (by dragging it to the trash) and have a two-step, start and finish material template.
Make sure you edit the start task to include quantity, batch unit, zone, etc. You do not need inputs or outputs on a material start task.
Leave the batch quantity set to 1. This field does not reflect how many of that item you're checking into the system, rather it reflects 1 material order. See 'Setting up Raw Materials' for more information on how to check in material quantities.
Next, edit your Finish task. You must always have an output on your finish task. To add an output, first click the outputs tab.
Select the appropriate output by clicking 'Add Output' and typing in the name of your resource. For more information on how to add resources, see 'Creating and Editing Resources.' You can leave the default quantity at 0.
Once the template have been set up, click Save. Exit will take you back to the Template Planning screen.
